Celebrity Tights (and Stockings) Spot: Daisy Lowe

Daisy Lowe in an interview with Grazia revealed that her choice of clothes were driven more by comfort than how fashionable they were.  "I can't really be bothered with stockings.  I am a creature of comfort and I like to be snug and cosy"  she said.

Throughout May 2010 Daisy documented her daily fashion and style choices for Vogue.co.uk's Today I'm Wearing feature. In August 2010, Daisy became the face of the newly relaunched Sixties label Biba. She is also the face of Stephen Webster's 2011 jewellery campaign. In 2011, Daisy went topless for Esquire wearing a pair of her hated stockings (OK technically hold-ups)

And she is not adverse to wearing stockings to sell a few 'phones

Well after the discomfort of those stockings perhaps its not surprising that Daisy wants something more cosy.  Joy of Tights recommends (and no surprise here) that Daisy tries tights.

Tights are much more cosy than stockings - covering right to the waist rather than leaving your thighs, beaver and bum to freeze.

Tights are cosy, but perhaps with a few other clothes....

Better - but maybe a top and skirt too....

Tights are also easier to put on.  A lot less to be bothered with.  No messing with suspenders.  No hold-up tops cutting off the blood supply.

OK, tights are usually less hassle

Modern tights made out of a mixture of fabrics can be really comfortable - just get a big enough size.  What could be more snug that a garment that covers at least half your body?

Sometimes your tights seem to ask to be pulled up as far as they will go

Well, without the help of Joy of Tights, (which doubtless Daisy is blissfully unaware of), Daisy has been enjoying the cosy, comfortable, snuggle of a good pair of tights and been looking incredibly sexy at the same time:

With friend also in tights.  How there is nothing more cosy, comfortable and re-assuring than a good quality pair of opaques.  (Not sure about toe less fishnets though - those pinkies poking out spoil the cool black style

Now one final quote from Daisy as a round about way to getting this blog back to its usual low level.  At 16, she said of the press,

"A lot of the stuff that gets written is just complete, mindless bullshit. If something bad is said about any of the people around me, then we all have a conversation about it [...] Most of the time it doesn't have an effect on my life. It's annoying when teachers say they've read things about me, and my head of year takes me aside and asks if I'm all right [...] But you've got to deal with it. There's no point going to cry in the toilet."

Now the toilet is one place stockings have an advantage - so much less to pull down and get tangled up.
