Happy Saint Andrews Day

My male readers will be pleased that some girls still wear tights in Scotland
Tights or leggings and stock? (Glasgow)
Fact (possibly) :About the middle of the 10th century, Andrew became the patron saint of Scotland. Several legends state that the relics of Andrew were brought by divine guidance from Constantinople to the place where the modern town of St Andrews stands today.
Myth: Later in life, St. Andrew the Apostle performed several miracles, including freeing the disciple Matthias from shackles in prison and raising a women's son from the dead. (How many people who you seen come back from the dead?, as for the shackles, he probably found they key).

Like the tights - the snake is a sign of Satan
You choose t or X cross:  Andrew is said to have been martyred by crucifixion at the city of Patras (Patræ) in Achaea, on the northern coast of the Peloponnese. Early texts, such as the Acts of Andrew known to Gregory of Tours,[9] describe Andrew as bound, not nailed, to a Latin cross of the kind on which Jesus is said to have been crucified; yet a tradition developed that Andrew had been crucified on a cross of the form called Crux decussata (X-shaped cross, or "saltire"), now commonly known as a "Saint Andrew's Cross" — supposedly at his own request, as he deemed himself unworthy to be crucified on the same type of cross as Jesus had been. The familiar iconography of his martyrdom, showing the apostle bound to an X-shaped cross, does not seem to have been standardized before the later Middle Ages.   Another reliable tradition then.

Apparently Andrew preached for two days from his X shaped cross.  Not something to encourage followers I would think.
Girls, don't you know your bodies are the Temple of the Holy Spirit?  St Andrew would not approve of that fag in your hand.
St. Andrew is also the patron saint of Russia. He apparently spent a great portion of his adult life traveling between Greece and the area known today as Russia and Romania converting many to Christianity.  But did St A ever go to what became, 19 centuries later, for a brief period, the U S S of R?  It was in interests of  Russian clerics, striving in numerous ways to link themselves with the political and religious heritage of Byzantium, to claim such a direct visit from the famous St A.  So St Andrew and Russia is made up.  Never mind at least in Russia they still wear tights:

Even "ordinary" women wear tights:
And Russian's know hoe to have fun in tights:
Fun in tights, much better than worrying about a long dead "saint"

Do you know where your Christmas comes from?

Christmas has been in the air since September, so I suppose I had better mention it.  So here is a quick summary of where your some of your Christmas comes from; i.e. Paganism

Trees

Egyptians particularly valued evergreens as a symbol of life's victory over death. They brought green date palm leaves into their homes around the time of the winter solstice.

Druid priests in Great Britain also used evergreen plants and mistletoe in pagan ceremonies, and the mistletoe plant was the symbol of the birth of a god. Celtic Druids and Norseman of Scandinavia also used mistletoe in a mysterious ceremony just after the winter solstice.
I know the tree is it the background, but I also know that my viewers prefer stocking feet to trees
In the mid 1500's, Germans began using evergreen trees as a symbol of hope for the coming of spring. This practice is likely to have gradually evolved from pagan rituals of past, and merged with the celebration of Christmas leading to the tree's Christian beginnings.

Santa Claus
Although Santa Claus is originally based upon St. Nicholas, a 4th-century Christian bishop from Lycia (now in Turkey), the figure is also strongly influenced by early Norse religion

Among early Germanic tribes, one of the major deities was Odin, the ruler of Asgard. A number of similarities exist between some of Odin's escapades and those of the figure who would become Santa Claus. Odin was often depicted as leading a hunting party through the skies, during which he rode his eight-legged horse, Sleipnir. In the 13th-century Poetic Edda, Sleipnir is described as being able to leap great distances, which some scholars have compared to the legends of Santa's reindeer. Odin was typically portrayed as an old man with a long, white beard -- much like St. Nicholas himself.
More Odin than St Nick

Reasons to be cheerful: Tights (not necessarily Kate Middleton's) and a few other things.

A blog post titled "Wearing Kate Middleton’s tights cheered me right up" caught my eye.

The author starts by explaining how November is getting her down:
"We should all be hibernating, a friend told me recently. Outside, the sky was a scowling mass of grey on grey; I was sitting at the table moaning at her. I’ve been waking up tired, I told her, and going to bed tired, and being tired for all the bits in between..."
November making someone else tired?
The author then goes on to explain how Kate Middleton's tights and a few other things went on cheer her up.
Not Kate Middleton's actual tights you understand, although I'm sure that Kate Middleton's actual tights have healing properties (especially for erectile dysfunction), but a pair of the same brand.  (Come to think about it all tights probably have healing properties for erectile dysfunction, at least for certain men).
Guys, do you need a pair of her used tights on the NHS? (For that embarrassing little problem)
Anyway I digress, the author goes on
"I have a navy-blue dress that has become a multifunctional friend to shrug into for any occasion. Giddy with my freedom from fatigue and the sheer burst of energy you can get from a change of scenery, I bought brand new navy-blue tights to match, in a demurely respectable shop in the middle of town.
“They’re the ones Kate Middleton wears,” the assistant informed me, with a degree of confidentiality usually reserved for test results.
“These exact ones?” I asked.
"Later, locals and festival folk gathered in the lovely hotel’s function room to drink tea and eat cake, to listen to the readings and talk about life and ageing and religion and rain and sex.
The conviviality of the afternoon, combined with the future queen of England’s hosiery, the stirring song of the high river rushing along outside the windows, and the generosity of the welcome from that Co Mayo town, winched the weight of November from my shoulders."
It;s true a new pair of tights, (Kate's brand or not), can make you feel better.  By completing the outfit, letting you show your legs off, or just through the sheer pleasure of buying a little something solely for you.
Smiling about her tights? Probably not just about her tights.
Anyway on an unusually cheery note here is a list of the things to be cheerful about.  The tights are, in most cases, incidental to the cheerfulness, but I know guys only visit this blog for the tights pics.

1. Mates
Being with your mates
Doing stuff with your mates
Your special girlfriend
2. Drugs
Alcohol
A cigi
Food. Hell, its a drug, especially if it contains chocolate, and has probably caused more health problems than all the other drugs put together.
Substances that give legal and illegal highs that I probably can't mention here.  (Wonder what she's on)
Dancing.  Not a drug as such, but produces all those chemicals that turn you into a feel good brain
3.Other stuff
Shoes, handbags, clothes.  Nuff said.  Note the cat is not wearing tights - unlike every other cat on the Web
When a guy takes notice of you.  Even if he's a slap head.  We are such suckers.
The countryside.  Nah only joking.  I'm a townie.  What's beautiful about pylons?

The Story of Princess Kate and the Naughty Wind

Are you sitting comfortably boys and girls?  Then I'll begin
Once upon a time there was a Princess called Kate.  She was a very good and brave princess.  We know that she was good because she did charity work, and because she started girls wearing tights again.  We know she was brave because she put with lots of horrible jealous bitches who said she was too thin, and because she went out on an Autumn day wearing sheer tights and quite a short dress.
One day Princess Kate braved the wintry weather on a charity visit to combat the issue of cyberbullying (that's when people beastly to you on the InterWeb).  Kate, 31, was working for the second day running in her capacity as Patron of Place2Be. She was wearing a short pleated navy skirt and matching jacket whilst visiting the charity in the great city of London.
Now the Wind God is a very naughty god indeed.  He wanted see up Princess Kate's skirt, to see what kind of knickers and tights she was wearing.
So he huffed and he puffed, but couldn't quite get the up-skirt view he wanted.  But he did see quite a lot of Princess Kate's tights and thought that she might be wearing the "shear to the waist" variety
He even tried again when Princess Kate was about to leave in her royal carriage, but to no avail.
So girls, what should be learn from the story of Princess Kate?

(I) If you want to be a real Princess wear sheer to the waist tights
Notice how these tights have no "brief"
Unlike these tights
Of course you need more than sheer to the waist tights to be a Princess
But are they really STW?  Look closely
In fact some girls in sheer to the waist behave in a very unladylike way:
Here the wind god got a free "up-skirt"
And even some otherwise respectable girls show more leg than even Princess Kate did.
(II) Brave the weather gods and go out in sheer tights this Autumn
Even wearing sandals in Autumn
So sheer you can see her tattoo
Be a sport give the wind god a chance to lift your skirt

He'll have to work hard to lift this skirt.
Since you have been such good boys and girls listening to my story, here are more pictures of Princes Kate.

Tie Crisis

Now that has got the attention of all you pantyhose perverts, on to the topic I really want to talk about.  The end of the Tie Rack chain.  Only 18% of men are wearing ties at work.
But I hear guys saying:
  • Ties are uncomfortable
  • Ties are hard to put on.
  • Ties are EXTRA uncomfortable in hot weather.
So what
  • Tights are uncomfortable
  • Tights are a pain to put on.
  • Tights are EXTRA uncomfortable in hot weather.
I like men in ties.  Ties are smart, just like tights.
You want girls in tights, wear a tie.  Ties are not just for work. They look good when going out.  Who knows, wearing a tie might help you get the stocking footed girl of your dreams?
You might even get some Royal Hotness
